San Joaquin County is recruiting for the Director of Employment and Economic Development, which is a single-position, at-will class that is exempt from the San Joaquin County Civil Service System. The incumbent is responsible for administering all program functions and activities of the Employment and Economic Development Department, and ensuring compliance with all applicable program related laws and regulations, as well as policies established by the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator.
Desirable qualifications - all interested candidates are encouraged to apply:
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in public administration, business administration, the social sciences, or closely-related field.
Experience: Seven years of increasingly responsible management experience in the development, implementation and administration of employment and training and/or economic development programs in a service delivery area or in a comparable agency, including at least three years in a senior management or director level position.
Substitution: A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, the social sciences, or closely related field may substitute for two years of experience.
License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
