The Director Workforce Investment under administrative direction of the Board of Supervisors, County Executive Office and the Workforce Development Board (WDB), to plan, organize, manage, direct, and supervise the multiple and diverse activities, programs and services of the Worknet of Merced County - America’s Job Center of California and represent the department with Federal and State agencies, the Board of Supervisors, education and training providers. Specifically this position is tasked with providing oversight for operation and functions of the department; make key decisions on all phases of the program, budget preparation, information systems, proposal reviews, contract management, program compliance and EEO/Affirmative Action, resolve specific issues targeting economically disadvantaged, minority, female, and handicapped persons.
The ideal candidate will have broad and extensive work experience in the development, implementation, and administration of employment and training programs, including at least two (2) years of experience in a management or supervisory position. Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major in public administration, business administration, or other field related to the development of employment and training programs is highly desirable.
Salary Range $119,080 - $144,913 annually, Expense Allowance $300.00 per month, Communication Allowance $150.00 per month, Auto Allowance $700.00 per month.
