Health Program Manager

The County of Sonoma Department of Health Services - Public Health Division seeks an experienced professional for a Health Program Manager (HPM) position. The HPM is responsible for managing three core related Public Health Protection programs including: Public Health Clinical Lab, Preparedness, and Disease Control. Additionally, this position:

• Supervises and reviews work of both technical and clerical staff
• Develops, monitors, and adjusts program budgets
• Reviews and analyzes service levels including revenue projections
• Assures program compliance with existing state and federal mandates
• Represents the Department of Health Services and County of Sonoma before other governmental agencies and community groups on matters of operation and service delivery

The ideal candidate will possess:

• An in-depth knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, and nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health related activities
• Proven experience developing, managing, and improving service delivery programs with a collaborative approach to community health in countywide and local settings
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Experience engaging stakeholders in planning and program implementation
• Demonstrated success in effective budget development, management, and resource acquisition
• A graduate degree in Public Health
