Located in San Mateo County just ten miles south of San Francisco, the City of Burlingame (population 29,724), often referred to as the City of Trees, is known for its exceptional quality of life and charming downtown area. Fiscally strong, the City has a FY2016-17 total budget of $108 million and a staff of 209 FTEs.
The City is seeking a collaborative professional with broad HR knowledge and solid experience to partner with other departments and guide them on critical HR functions. This exceptional communicator will relish the opportunity to mentor dedicated staff and create a team environment that provides excellent customer service. Energetic and results-oriented, the new Director will be organized and pragmatic in executing essential personnel functions. Although director level experience is not required, outstanding leadership skills are. Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience in personnel management, including two (2) years of service in a supervisory capacity, are required. Master’s degree preferred.
