Supported by seven full-time staff + two casual employees, the city’s HR functions include Training and Development, Recruitment, Classification and Compensation, Benefits, Workers’ Compensation and Safety, and Employee and Labor Relations. Currently a division of the Administrative Services Department, HR will be re-established as its own department beginning with the new fiscal year.
The ideal candidate will be a high-energy and visionary local government HR professional who is passionate about serving customers. Well-versed in contemporary best practices, he/she will also be an excellent verbal and written communicator, collaborative, hardworking, flexible and fun. A Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience, including two years of service in a supervisory capacity, in public sector HR is required. A Master’s degree is desirable.
