The Banning Library District Board of Trustees is seeking an innovative, resourceful and creative Library Director with a long term vision of a successful community library through engagement, strong outreach and expanded service. The Library Director must demonstrate strong grant-writing abilities, and show ingenuity when creating and implementing a strategic plan.
Banning Library District is one of 12 special library districts in California funded by taxes, grants and bequeaths. It is one of a few libraries governed by the Board of Trustees. It is located in Riverside County, 20 minutes west of Palm Springs and an hour to snow or beach areas.
Roles
• Responsible for the daily management and operations of the Banning Library District
• Provide leadership towards continued growth in technology and public service to the Banning community
• Work closely with the Banning Library District Board of Trustees in the development and implementation of programs to enhance library services and collaborates with local, county, state and national governments and other organizations
Qualifications
• Required qualifications include an MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution
• 3-5 years professional library management experience in a public library
• Public networking, proposal/grant writing and public speaking skills
Salary Range
• $82,000-$92,000 with great benefits
