LIBRARY DIRECTOR
$137,772 - $192,864 annually

The City is seeking a visionary, team-oriented professional with the energy and focus necessary to lead a forward-thinking library into the future. The candidate will make decisions independently based on demonstrable community needs while maintaining a strategic vision based on the bigger picture.
The Director will be responsible for all library programs, services and activities, develops and implements sound library services programs. Implements and monitors the effectiveness of the strategic plan. Directs the implementation of the City’s policies and programs to ensure effective implementation of the City Council’s goals and objectives to maintain fiscal integrity. Assists in the development and implementation of the City’s overall goals, objectives, policies and priorities. Conducts difficult policy, marketing, and fiscal related analytical studies and reports involving the evaluation of departmental programs. Represents the City in the community and at professional meetings as required. Coordinates activities with other City departments and other public and private agencies. Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints. Supports the Library Board of Trustees and the Arts Commission.
Candidates for this position must possess eight years of increasingly responsible experience in library administration, in a public agency, including three years at the managerial level and a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Library Science, Information Science or closely related field.
