The City of Hermosa Beach is seeking to fill a key Management Analyst position within the Office of the City Manager, reporting to the Assistant to the City Manager. We are searching for an innovative critical-thinker who is enthusiastic about a career in city administration and thrives working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Competitive candidates for the Management Analyst position will possess a broad range of knowledge and experience including excellent written, analytic and computer skills, as well as a strong customer service orientation to coordinate and collaborate successfully with other departments, outside agencies, community groups and the broader public. 

Management Analyst duties include qualitative and quantitative analysis, internal communication activities, report preparation, project oversight and professional administrative support as assigned. Assignments may include, but are not limited to the following: digital communications such as social media and drafting community newsletters; performance measurement and budgeting; grant procurement and administration; legislative affairs; and administering various public outreach functions.

Educational equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field.  A Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.  At least two years of increasingly responsible experience in government or a comparable business or non-profit organization is required. Experience in communication/social media and public relations, grant writing, finance & budgets, contract administration, goal setting, and legislative affairs, are desirable.
