The Management Analyst I/II classification is flexibly staffed and may be filled either at the (entry level) or II (journey level), depending on the qualifications of the candidates and the departmental need. Employees in the Management Analyst I classification may advance to the Management Analyst II level after meeting higher-level qualifications.
Salary Ranges
Management Analyst I- $73,899.49 - $89,833.89/year
Management Analyst II - $87,079.40 - $105,845.64/year
Management Analysts provide responsible professional administration and technical assistance in the development, administration and implementation of city programs; provide highly responsible analytical staff assistance including conducting specific and comprehensive analyses of a wide range of municipal policies involving organization, procedures, finance and services; and assist in office management functions such as developing and monitoring a department budget, administration of contracts, and monitoring and administering project grants.

Budget development and administration
Grant research, administration and writing, including preparation of grant submittals/proposals
Develop, review and oversee Department contracts
Coordination and tracking of various Department projects, including capital projects
Facility maintenance management
Research and analysis
City Manager's Office:
Risk Management program assistance
Administrative policy development, update and implementation
Coordination of special projects
Legislative and research analysis for various projects
Implementation of strategic plan initiatives
Research and analysis related to Economic Development, including State and Federal legislation
Project management for technology initiatives
Utilities:
Administrative programs oversight
Equipment and Facilities management
Financial administration including budget, billing and purchasing
Research and analysis
Risk Management administration for Department
Training program oversight
Safety program administration and support
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills in order to work in an effective manner across all City Departments and all levels of employees, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. The desirable knowledge, skills and abilities include, but are not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Management Analyst I:
Education: Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field.
Experience: Some professional analytical experience is desirable.
Management Analyst II:
Education: Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field.
Experience: At least two (2) years of responsible experience in administrative management similar to Management Analyst I with the City of Vacaville.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Select positions may require the possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.

- Prior experience managing special programs such as recruitments, risk management and/or safety.
