Serving a residential population of 140,000 and a daytime population of 240,000, the City of Pasadena is located 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The 23-square mile city is ethnically and culturally diverse and is consistently recognized for its livability and outstanding quality of life. Reporting to the Controller and supported by a team of 3, the Payroll Services Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of the City’s centralized payroll function.
Pasadena is seeking an empowering manager with the proven ability to delegate and mentor effectively. Familiar with industry trends and best practices, this team-oriented professional will embrace new technology and tools that enhance efficiency and capacity. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills are also desirable.
The ideal candidate will possess five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in payroll administration along with a Bachelor’s degree. Designation as a Certified Payroll Professional is strongly preferred.
