Serving a population of 79,601, the City of Tustin is located in the heart of Orange County. The City is known for its exceptional quality of life and convenient location. The Tustin Police Department is one of the few accredited departments in California and is supported by a staff of 145 sworn and civilian personnel. The Civilian Commander is one of two commanders reporting directly to the Police Chief.
Overseeing the Administrative Services Bureau (Communications, Police Services, Property and Evidence, and Records units), the ideal candidate will be familiar with the supporting functions of police operations and possess five years of supervisory/management experience in a California law enforcement agency and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. He/she will be a strong leader and outstanding people manager and mentor. Law enforcement retirees from non-PERS agencies as well as civilian administrative professionals are encouraged to apply.
