Public Works Manager ($78,945 - $96,682)

Under the general supervision of the City Manager, the Public Works Manager is responsible for the City’s public works activities, including operation, maintenance, and repair programs, capital projects, and administrative oversight including, but not limited to filing regulatory reports, budgeting, scheduling, preparation of specifications, monitoring public works contracts and oversight and/or inspection of the work of contractors and crews performing maintenance functions. The Public Works Manager is required to perform basic street maintenance such as emergency patching of streets, placing barricades, removing fallen trees and replacing street signs. The manager is also required to respond to all emergencies and be on call as needed.
Training and Experience: Minimum qualifications include any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance. As an example, two years of college level training in engineering, construction management, public works, or a related field, and four years of experience in public works or heavy construction. Additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
