THE JOB
We are looking for a leader who can apply modern recruiting, outreach and communication and marketing methods, and creative approaches to achieving outcomes. As the Recruitment, Retention and Selection Manager for the Department of Social Services, you will use your expert communication skills and customer service orientation to implement unique, creative and effective ways of finding and securing ideal candidates to fill various employment opportunities. In addition you will use current retention methods to retain talent and develop recommendations to address succession planning and improve selection and testing processes. You will work with hiring authorities to identify the ideal candidate profile, design marketing strategies to attract an ideal candidate, develop recruitment announcements, effectively use social media tools, work with community partners (schools, universities, workforce agencies, etc.), brand the County as an employer of choice, provide excellent customer service skills to clients and applicants and incorporate the selection rules required within a public sector agency.

- Possession of an Associate’s degree and professional human resources experience as stated in the competencies above,
- Ideally, three years of experience delivering a broad range of human resource services or taking a lead position in conducting recruitments, job analysis or organizational workforce planning;
- Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License, this position will require independent travel; or
A combination of education, experience and training that equals the qualifications mentioned above.
SALARY: The annual starting salary range for this position is between $67,141 - $91,149, depending on qualifications/experience; this range includes base salary plus a cash benefit allowance. This position’s top salary range is $106,785.

Additional Requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License is required upon appointment. Will possess physical agility to walk /stand for hours at community events.
