The Santa Monica City Council welcomed its newest member on Tuesday. 

In the span of just two months, the City of Santa Ana has parted ways with its city manager, deputy city manager, city clerk, and a top city manager’s aide. The city manager’s departure alone will cost $400,000.

Eight months after he became Elk Grove’s interim city manager, Jason Behrmann has been selected to assume the permanent position. The city council voted Jan. 9 to make Behrmann’s job permanent.

National City’s top administrator will step down later this year after more than three decades of service, including the past six as city manager.

El Cerrito Assistant City Manager Karen Pinkos is assuming the top administrator’s position, following the December retirement of City Manager Scott Hanin.

Santa Ana may once again find itself on the lookout for a new city manager.
