Chief Financial Officer

Located just 55 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, the City of Santa Rosa (pop. 175,155) is the county seat of Sonoma County, encompassing 41.5 square miles in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine country. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the City Manager and leads a team of 94 staff with a budget of $17 million providing a variety of financial services to the City organization.

Assistant Director of Finance

Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the work plan for assigned staff; prioritizes and assigns work activities, projects, and programs; reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems.
Assists the Department Director in the administration and coordination of the preparation and execution of services or functions within Finance Department; oversees the day-to-day operations of the department.

Chief Financial Officer

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is the Bay Area’s newest passenger rail service providing a safe, reliable and congestion-free transportation option for Marin and Sonoma counties. The current 45-mile system includes stations in the Sonoma County Airport area, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma, Novato, San Rafael, and Larkspur. SMART’s system also includes a bicycle and pedestrian pathway along the rail corridor. SMART’s rail service includes a Windsor extension, which is slated to open by the end of 2021. Future extensions are planned for Healdsburg and Cloverdale.

Accountant I/II/SR

Preference will be given to those candidates at this time who possess a CPA license and/or have at least four (4) years of accounting experience with at least two (2) years of experience in governmental accounting for a municipal finance department.

The Procurement Services Manager plans, develops, administers, and implements the City’s centralized purchasing activities; carries out competitive bid procedures and negotiates purchases; buys supplies, materials, equipment, and non-professional services; ensures compliance with all laws and regulations governing public sector purchases; performs other related duties as required.
