City Attorney

The City of San Mateo (pop. 104,570) is the second-largest municipality in San Mateo County, located on the San Francisco Peninsula, covering 14.6 square miles. A charter city, San Mateo has a FY2020-21 operating budget of $194.9 million and over 700 staff.  The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and, with the assistance of three Assistant City Attorneys, serves as legal advisor to the City Council, commissions and staff, and represents the organization in civil litigation.

Deputy County Counsel

Approximate Annual Base Salary: $92,937-$163,731 DOE, DOQ.
In addition to the base salary, the County offers an excellent benefits plan which includes a county contribution to health insurance, dental and vision insurance plans. Other benefits also offered by the County include: 10% confidential base pay supplement, 80 hours of Administrative Leave annually, 14 paid holidays, 10 days of vacation leave, 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, 1937 Retirement Act plan.
