Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional, technical, and administrative tasks involving the implementation of community development and housing projects and programs; and does related work as required.

Deputy City Manager for Operations and Deputy City Manager for Support

The City of Modesto ($416.2 million budget and 1,235 FTEs) is recruiting nationally for two Deputy City Managers: Deputy City Manager for Operations and Deputy City Manager for Support. The new DCMs will play an integral role in the development of the new strategic plan and support the “Building a Healthy Economy and Great Quality of Life” initiative in Modesto.

Fire Chief

The City of Vallejo (approximate population 121,000) is a rapidly changing and highly diverse community located midway between the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco. The full-service, charter city is seeking candidates who may be interested in the position of Fire Chief. The Vallejo Fire Department provides fire suppression, prevention, and emergency medical services over an area of approximately 50 square miles. The City is seeking candidates with a progressive and collaborative vision for the Vallejo Fire Department.

Community Development Director

The City of Vallejo (approximate population 121,000) is a rapidly changing and highly diverse community located midway between the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco. The full-service, charter city is seeking candidates who may be interested in the position of Community Development Director. Reporting to the City Manager, the Director is supported by a staff of 19 FTEs and an annual operating budget of $4.9 million. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative member of the City’s executive development team, including the Economic Development Manager and the Housing Division Manager.
