Assistant Planner

City Planner

THE POSITION
Under the direction from the Director of Community Director, the City Planner will plan, supervise, and manage the activities of the Planning Division of the Community Development Department. The ideal candidate will exercise independent judgment to assist with planning, zoning and land use activities for the City; negotiation related to land use and development; and facilitate the process of making the City of Baldwin Park a more sustainable City.

THE POSITION
Chief Surveyor is responsible for performing professional land surveying duties in the review and approval of parcel maps, subdivision maps, and deeds.  In addition, the incumbent will be required to prepare subdivision agreements, covenants, staff reports, and make presentations to the Planning Commission and City Council.  In this capacity, an incumbent may supervise assigned technical staff.

Plan Check Engineer

The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Plan Check Engineer with a great customer service skill to join the Community Development Department to conduct residential and commercial plan checks. 

Under direction, the Plan Check Engineer supervises and checks building plans for residential, commercial, and other structures to ensure compliance with building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing codes, local ordinances, and State and Federal laws; conducts field inspections; and does related work as required.
