Planning/Engineer

The City of Turlock is seeking applicants for its Roads Program Manager position.  This position is responsible for managing high profile engineering projects, performs project management, and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Development Services Director and/or Deputy Director.  The Roads Program Manager reports to the Development Services Director and/or Deputy Director and exercises administrative supervision and direction to professional, technical and administrative support personnel. 
 

Summary
Perform professional, complex transportation activities, analyses, and planning studies, oversee contracts and providers, identify and secure transportation funds; manage finances, accounts, grants, and budgetary functions for the Transit Division.

Class Characteristics
General direction is provided by a higher-level manager; responsibilities may include the indirect and direct supervision of professional, technical, and administrative support personnel.

$23.30 - $32.03/hour
(depending on experience),
plus a robust benefits package.

Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director/City Engineer, performs a variety of tasks and duties pertaining to the programs and projects both office and field technical paraprofessional work in the Public Works Department.

Emphasis in environmental engineering, environmental science, or related education and training is desired, but is not a criterion of the qualifications.

The Assistant Engineer is the entry level class in the professional engineering
series. Under general supervision, individuals perform professional
engineering work in the design, evaluation and construction of street,
storm, sewer, and other public work projects.
Assistant Engineers who successfully obtain their professional Civil Engineer
designation from the State of California will be considered for automatic
promotion to Associate Engineer upon demonstrating the professional
capacity to work at the advanced journey level.
