Assistant City Attorney

Located between San Francisco and San Jose, Palo Alto (pop. 67,657) is the birthplace and heart of Silicon Valley.  A full-service Charter City with a council-manager form of government, Palo Alto has a FY 2021-22 operating budget of $690 million and 950 staff. The City Attorney’s Office provides legal services to the City Council, City Manager, and operating departments. The Assistant City Attorney reports to the City Attorney and will join a team of 12 staff.

Chief Deputy City Attorney

The San José City Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced, well-qualified, motivated, and collaborative attorney to join the Office as a full-time supervisory Chief Deputy City Attorney. The Office addresses many interesting and challenging legal issues. The Chief Deputy is one of two Chief Deputies responsible for supervising and assisting deputy and senior deputy attorneys with transactional and general government matters, and is part of the Office management team.

City Attorney

The City of Fremont (pop. 235,439), the fourth-largest city in the Bay Area, serves as the eastern anchor of Silicon Valley covering 92 square miles.  Fremont is a vibrant urban community with one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse populations in the Bay Area.  A general law city, Fremont has a FY 2021-22 General Fund budget of $231.4 million and 965 staff.  The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and, with the assistance of 9 staff, serves as chief legal counsel to the City Council, commissions, and staff.

COUNTY COUNSEL

Salary:  $145,812 - $177,228

Home to over 22 official wilderness areas, Inyo County, California, is surrounded by the 1.9 million-acre Inyo National Forest, which features over 400 lakes and 1,100 miles of rivers and streams, providing world-class trout fishing. The entire area boasts some of the wildest and most beautiful terrain in the world, including the largest national park in the "Lower 48" – Death Valley – which covers nearly 3.4 million acres of land east of the Owens Valley. Yosemite National Park and Mammoth Mountain are also less than an hour drive away.

Deputy County Counsel - II/III

The County Counsel’s Office is a department of the County of Placer and allocated 16 attorney and 9 administrative staff positions. It is led by the County Counsel, an attorney, who is a direct appointment of the Board of Supervisors. The County Counsel Deputies assist the County Counsel to implement the goals, strategies and programs of the Board of Supervisors and represent the County in civil and administrative matters. Each Deputy is assigned a wide range of assignments, cases and projects and given the opportunity to learn different areas of public sector law.
